European Punk Poster Shows in May and June!

Visual Vitriol and the Center for Punk Arts will be heading to Lyon, France on May 29th to celebrate Texas punk and hardcore music by presenting a full display of historic DIY posters (Really Red, Big Boys, Mydolls, Offenders, Butthole Surfers, etc.) , including large selection by Randy “Biscuit” Turner of the Big Boys, Cargo Cult, Swine King, and the Texas Biscuit Bombs. Several local bands will be playing, as well as the touring Texas powerhouse Total Abuse. The event also features a DJ spinning 1960’s Texas psych and garage punk. In addition, the host Modern City Records will be releasing the debut double-record (both live and studio) set by the Texas Biscuit Bombs, which also features the last surviving studio tracks, never before released, of Cargo Cult too.  The album art was designed by Biscuit himself prior to death, and features some of his flyer artwork, while the liner notes feature  commentary by drummer and punk poster curator and historian David Ensminger.

Ensminger will also be traveling to Dresden, Germany to DJ, show short punk films, and curate similar posters at the infamous club Chemiefabrik on June 1st, which will be followed by a lecture on punk diversity and reclamation at TUD — the Technical University in Dresden. Details will be forthcoming!
